Poet, literary critic and professor of literature, Jose Lupianes has published more than 20 books since appearing with the Ladrón de fuego (The Thief of Fire)
in 1975. He is the initiator of various cultural societies, magazines
and literary collections. His works have been translated into various
languages, included in numerous anthologies, and has won numerous
awards.
His most famous poetic titles are: Arcanos (Secret) – 1984, Número de Venus (Number of Venus) – 1996, La luna hiena (Moon Hyena) – 1997, Puerto escondido (The Hidden Harbor) – 1998, La verde senda (The Green Path) – 1999, El sueño de Estambul (The Dream of Istanbul) – 2004, Petra (Petra) – 2004, La edad ligera (The Easy Age) – 2007, Pasiones y penumbras (Passions and Shadows) – 2014, and his latest collection of poems Las formas del enigma (Forms of the Enigma) – 2021.
He is also the author of many anthologies, as well as Las tardes literarias (Literary Evenings) – 2005, Poetas del sur (Poets of the South) – 2008, Páginas con alma (Pages with a Soul) – 2017 and Cuaderno de Arneva (Arneva’s Notebook) – 2021: works that unite some of his literary critics, appeared in the press and in specialized magazines.
Since
2003 he has been a member of the Granada Academy of Literature and the
Latin American Academy of Literature. In 2012 he was already known as a
narrator with the release of El chico de la estrella y otros cuentos (The Boy from the Star and Other Stories). With this collection he won the Andalusian Critics Award for Best Debut in 2013.
