Our celestial proto-language
echoed in dark, empty rooms
I was a star dweller and a mystic -
I did not stop my dreaming.
And here I am on the ground
with the cosmic ideal -
I have chosen a homeland
and the aliens in me are tossing.
And infinitely, and without beginning
messages of stellar inhabitants
Come to us from the future
From the Akash records.
POEMarium is delighted to display prof. Pushpalatha Ramakrishnan's review of Minko Tanev's winning entry in the Quote Poem_33.
On receiving the poem based on T.S. Eliot's famous quote “Genuine poetry can communicate before it is understood ", I was quite amazed to get the reference of the Akash records coming often to my mind. It is, infact, a thing of wonder, for it being in my inquisittive mind, to inquire and know what it is. See the coincidence, just like me, the concept has struck the mind of the mystic poet to find what it is. That is why he befits the poem with the best title, 'Star Alphabet'.
Really, it is God's wish I surmise, to get it envisioned. Even before the assignment is allotted, the Divinity in me has increased my thirst to probe and decipher what it actually seems to be.
Generally we know about the Proto-Indo-European, the Indo-European, and specifically the Germanic language, of which English is a derivative, that influenced the early history of the English Language that began in Britain and with several groups of people.
“ Indeed, a proto-language is a language which was the common ancestor of related languages that form a language family.“ For example, Proto-Indo-European, Proto-Bantu etc. rose rapidly from single-word utterances to sentences including inflection, tense, prepositions, quantifiers, determiners , embedded clauses etc.
Regarding the proto celestial language, I think, with a single exception of our mystic poet Minko Tanev, no one has come forward to reveal what had been hidden from our view.
"Our celestial proto-language
echoed in dark, empty rooms
I was a star dweller and a mystic"
Very beautifully, our poet begins the poem by referring to the language beyond the comprehension of the common lot, called the celestial proto language remaining in the dark, now and then getting echoed in the rooms found to be empty. Unlike the others, who are very dreary and restless, our winning poet admits that he is an exception and is very proud to state that his mind is bent upon dwelling upon the thought of the celestial stars and also he is fond of saying that he is a mystic . Like William Blake, he used to dream not on the lamb but on the cosmic field to apprehend the secrets underlied in the Aakash records.
The same word frequently appears in my mind to increase my passion to unravel the mystery of the unseen law pervading the universe.
"And here I am on the ground
with the cosmic ideal -
I have chosen a homeland
and the aliens in me are tossing."
Thus, in the second stanza of this beautiful poem, the poet says that he is physically present upon the gracious earth but all the time ruminating upon the cosmic ideal. The wish of the poet is to select a homeland but what is in the innermost core of his mind is found to be at a loss to do what is required of him. I think the aliens may be the inner elements, the inherent forces preventing him to transcend the barriers to go beyond the space.
In the last but the best of all stanzas, the poet brings out the message how the gifted are found to be in touch with the cosmic rays and get messages continuously as if their hearts are linked with the steller inhabitants. It is also implied that the exact time since the Genesis of creation, can’t be stated as the beginning to predict about the release of the messages by the heavenly inhabitants. They are there, I mean in the heavenly sphere, with all the requisites waiting eagerly like the mentors to impart the knowledge and the skills needed for better living.
As a foreteller, our winning poet assures that in future too the messages are found to be abundant in the cosmic or the sublunary world .The poet is supposed to be a visionary to state that the messages are registered in the form of sound waves in the Aakash records. Those who are intent upon getting himself or herself connected with the invisible force getting activated at the centre of the cosmic field will get communion with all the intricate mysterious things scattered in the space. The realisation of the mind, being like an antenna to get it fixed with the cosmic field, will enable the person to see into the source of all the things aspired by them and also the steller inhabitants of the celestial abode too will help them discern all the things needed for them and the circumstances which will bring about desired result too will be communicated by them. Thus, our winning poet tries to express the inexpressible in terms of utter simplicity to the delight of the readers.
Really, I feel blessed to review the poem and I think it is an errand entrusted in to my hands to unravel what is uppermost in the mind of our prolific poet Minko Tanev. Dear poet, I wish you all success in the quest made by you in search of the Aakash Records
